We are currently seeking experienced and motivated individuals to fill the position of ROW Weed Applicator (Commercial Operator/Technician for category 6B Right-of-Way) for seasonal work, based out of the Farmington, New Mexico area. Experience and applicator permit not required but beneficial.


The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Daily operation of all equipment on vehicle and weed spray system.
  • Accurate record keeping and submission of required reports and logs.
  • Maintenance and proper use of company issued equipment including phone, vehicle, tools, computer, etc.
  • Current knowledge of applicable state laws and regulations for pesticide application.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure an environmentally compliant work site.
  • Ensure safe working environment.
  • Good communication skills.


  • A Right-of-Way worker performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties involving mixing and applying herbicides in designed areas and facilities. Complete forms, logs, and other paperwork as needed. Will need to perform duties in a safe and orderly manner, complying with all labels and NM laws.
  • Capable of independently working under general supervision of the Commercial Applicator.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, and a hard worker.
  • Operator/Technicians must pass written exams covering general pesticide information and NM laws and rules. Operator/Technicians may only perform the types of pest control in which their Commercial Applicator employer is certified.
  • High School diploma or GED required, with some college or technical training a plus.
  • Experience and applicator license beneficial but not required.
  1. To be licensed as an Operator/Technician an individual must: Complete the Operator/Technician application form. This form must be acknowledged by the Commercial Applicator employer.

    3. 6, Personal Protective Equipment
    4. 9, Emergency, or Incident Response
    5. 11, Pesticide Application Procedures
  3. Pass the Operator exam.
